Regis College Career: Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and Chief Diversity Officer (10978 hits)

Regis College seeks nominations and applications for the Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and Chief Diversity Officer (AVP/CDO). Reporting to President Antoinette Hays, the AVP/CDO will create linkages among all stakeholders to develop and implement a new strategic vision for inclusive excellence for Regis.

Located in Weston, Massachusetts, Regis is a leading Catholic coed university with over 3,000 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in the arts, sciences and health professions devoted to engagement, service and advancement in a global community. Regis is growing thanks to an innovative vision and strategic decision-making by University leadership. Four schools, a satellite campus and online degree programs provide transformational educational experiences for students, particularly those from underserved populations. Twenty-one percent of Regis students are from diverse backgrounds and 23 percent are first-generation college students. Thirty-five percent of undergraduate students are Pell-eligible.

Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, Regis continues to find inspiration in the values of its founders, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, which include the pursuit of truth, service to the dear neighbor, social justice, excellence with gentleness, gracious hospitality and welcoming all without distinction. Regis seeks to educate the whole person, preparing students to pursue excellence, become agents of change in their own communities, and serve and lead as advocates of a more just and compassionate global society. This is an institution that is committed to the dynamic and complex work of diversity, and whose members are eager and interested in broadening their understanding and being more collaborative as they tackle sensitive topics and bring the College to a place of greater inclusivity, justice and equity.

The ideal candidate will be an expert on diversity, equity and inclusion issues and a skilled convener who will deftly engage the campus community, raising Regis' work in this arena to a higher level of sophistication. The AVP/CDO will possess highly effective communication skills and be a builder and nurturer of positive, collaborative relationships. Experience establishing a strategic vision for inclusive excellence, inspiring and facilitating cultural change, and the ability to use data and research to inform analysis, assessment and measurement of effective diversity and inclusions programs are core to this leadership.

Inquiries, nominations and applications are invited. Review of applications will begin immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. For fullest consideration, applicant materials should be received by September 25, 2019. Candidates should provide as three separate documents: a curriculum vitae, a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements described in the Leadership Statement, available at www.wittkieffer.com, and the names and contact information of five references including at least one who was directly supervised by the candidate in a past role. References will not be contacted without prior knowledge and approval of candidates. These materials should be sent electronically via e-mail to Regis College’s consultants Charlene L. Aguilar and Shelley M.H. Arakawa at RegisAVPCDO@wittkieffer.com. The consultants can be reached by telephone via the desk of Candice Jones at 630-575-6929.

In employment, as in education, Regis College is committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action. Regis does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion, creed, s*x, gender identity or expression, s*xual orientation, ethnic or national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, pregnancy, veteran’s status, membership in uniformed services or any other protected status.
