Before I was diagnosed with Bipolar, folks thought I was crazy! I have just always been a fun loving person who just loves to laugh. So, what's so funny today?
Well, just when I sighed in relief that gas prices have begun to drop drastically, I discovered another economic bite! It was very upsetting and I thought I will just never live to tell the grandkids, but I had to at least let you all know about this atrocity!
I'm still boiling from all the insidious tactics of the consumer goods industry to bait and switch products or portions under the cloak of "tough times." So, I'm thinking as I drive home, if gas prices suddenly are dropping after the election--which I suspected would happen anyway--then how much longer will it take for the consumer industry to pump more beef into the steaks or stretch the tin around tuna back to pre-"hardship" sizes?
Well, I thought, 'just be patient' and when I arrived home and safe out of the brisk morning air, I prepared myself for my weekend routine. I brewed me a fresh pot of coffee. I opened the Nestle's Hazelnut Coffee Cream I just purchased and I added it to my coffee mug like I always do.
A few minutes later, I added the coffee. I made it to my work room and nuzzled up to the coffee mug. Something was not right, but I could not immediately figure it out. I took a few sips and let the hot liquid warm my muse slowly. Several sips later, the muse seemed to be irritated and I regretted not getting the pumpkin muffin, but then I soon figured out why she was irritable. It had nothing to do with the muffin.
It was like a hammer had slammed on my head out of nowhere as I sat the mug down. OMG--there is noooooooo nuts in this hazel! Yes! That's right! My fresh cup of coffee with hazelnut cream tasted like allll it had in it was cream. NO HAZELNUTS!
OMG! It can't be true. They wouldn't cut back on the nuts would they? Please, God, tell me that Nestle's did not add more cream and less nuts! I quickly ran to the kitchen and popped open the funky red cap on the gold, curvy bomb-shell container (that bottle has one heck of a figure....uh-hm).
First, I sniffed the air immediately above the cap. Nope. No burst of hazelnuts. Then I raised the container closer to my nose and inhaled deeply. Nope. Gone. I couldn't stop there. I grabbed a tablespoon from the drawer, poured the cough-syrup like cream onto it, and swallowed the liquid slowly. I knew it was going to be rough so I also braced myself against the sink and waited for my body to react with a shiver or something. Nothing.
Gee whiz...Please Mr. Nestle, put the nuts back in the hazelnut coffee cream. (LOL).
