A very powerful essay on Black churchmen women and physical
abuse. A colleague sent the text to me for consideration in one of the
classes I will be teaching. We got into this conversation after going to
see the movie "Doubt," which is about abuse of a male child, but the
movie raised so many evocative questions until we spent almost 3 hours
interpreting it, especially women's roles and gendered power struggles.
This article was sent to me by a friend and college Professor. I'm still shaking after
