If you are like many people, you still start your day with your cup of java...but how many people know that how you brew your coffee can have an effect on your LDL cholesterol...or as it is sometimes known as the "bad cholesterol"? Brewing coffee without the use of paper filters can be on of the culprits in the equation of your inability to lower your LDL. Paper filtering removes the naturally produced compond cafestol which has been shown can increase the level of your LDL.
So before you head out for those coffee choices that are brewed without the use of paper filters (expresso or cappuccino) or use coffe makers that use the mesh filters...consider what your last LDL reading was.
Although I have a coffemaker that doesn't need a paper filter...I have begun to the paper filter as well...I figure any effort to be heart healthy is worth the effort.
