Dear Advocates,
Finally! Senate Democrats pressured Republicans to drop their filibuster, allowing a simple majority to pass an end to the Bush tax cuts for income over $250,000, while keeping the tax breaks for the middle class.
It’s a great victory for the middle class and a great victory for democracy!
But it won’t be law unless the House Republicans join the Senate and pass the bill. And that won’t happen without maximum grassroots pressure ...YOU!
Click here to tell the House: Join the Senate. End the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. Extend tax benefits for the middle class. It taks less than 3 minutes:
http://action.ourfuture.org/p/dia/action/p... The Republicans always say they want tax cuts. Why won’t they accept the Democratic bill which extends the tax cuts for 98% of Americans?
Senate Republicans revealed the truth in their own alternative bill, which literally would cut taxes for the wealthy, and raise taxes on the poor and the middle class.
That’s unconscionable. But that’s what they believe: poor people pay too little in taxes, rich people pay too much.
And that’s despite the fact that multimillionaires like Mitt Romney now pay a lower tax rate than the cops who patrol their streets.
For years, Republicans have claimed they were for tax cuts. Turns out they meant tax cuts for their donors — not tax cuts for the rest of us.
Click here to tell the House: Join the Senate. End the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. Extend tax benefits for the middle class.
It’s very simple. We tried creating jobs with massive tax breaks to the wealthy. Instead, we got massive income inequality and the biggest economic meltdown since the Great Depression.
It’s time for tax fairness. It’s time for the wealthy to pay their fair share. It’s time for working people to get a break.
The only people standing in the way are the House Republicans.
Enough time has been wasted. Let’s get them out of the way TODAY!
REMEMBER: Each constituent who contacts Congress represents 1,000 persons in their district!!!!! SPEAK UP FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT!
Sincerely,
