Fighting for the rights of Detroiters
Brother or sister:
We've all heard bits and pieces about what's going on in Detroit from the mainstream media. Every major news outlet has been buzzing over the past 2 weeks about the bankruptcy filing in Detroit.
But the mainstream media is not telling the whole story.
They aren't telling you how democracy has been usurped and overthrown in Detroit; and how it's a shame that the mayor and city council were either frightened or coerced or worse, bribed, into giving up their authority over the city that they were elected to protect and serve.
They aren't telling you how it's all a lie, that Detroit was never in an emergency, that Detroit never ran out of cash, and that this has been nothing but a ploy to take away the rights of the Detroit citizens.
We have to sit down and listen, and make sure we understand exactly what's going on in Detroit.
We have to remember the 47% comment made by Mitt Romney.
We have to remember that there are people in power in this country who will try to do anything they can to strip away the power of our vote.
They're trying to do it now in Detroit. They are trying to take away the power of Detroit voters.
If we let them get away with it in Detroit, then where will they stop?
This is just the beginning; and that's why we need to take a stand here and now and fight against those who would strip American citizens of the power of democracy.
Maybe you're not in Detroit; but if you have family or friends there, forward this email to them and tell them that they need to listen to this.
Detroit needs a mayor, a city clerk, and a city council that will do the right thing, and that will fight for the rights of Detroit and the rights of America and who will not call on state government to micro-manage city government.
