Many people purchase organic produce in mass believing that it is healthier than produce that is conventionally grown. While organic produce does contain fewer pesticide residues than conventional produce, there is little evidence suggesting that it is superior in nutritional value. Given the substantially higher cost of organic produce, there are certain factors that are worth considering before making the investment.

What Is Organic Produce?

Organic produce refers to fruits and vegetables that have been grown without the use of synthetic chemicals (pesticides) or irradiation for preservation. Such organic farming methods are more environmentally friendly than conventional farming and may reduce exposure to potentially toxic chemicals.

What Is the Nutritional Value of Organic Produce?

There are no considerable differences in the overall nutritional quality of organic versus conventionally grown produce. Regardless of farming practices, fruits and vegetables are rich in #vitamins, minerals, and disease-fighting antioxidants.
