Civil Rights, Fannie Lou Hamer, Black Women and Hysterectomy (4956 hits)


I found this by accident on Wikipedia while looking up something else. Fannie Lou Hamer, who later became a reknowned Civil Rights activist, was given a hysterectomy at the age of 32 in order to prevent her from producing children.

I understand the spirit of your blog and the complaint you are making about Ms. Fannie Lou Hamer was forced to have a hysterectomy rendering her unable to have children at the age of 32.

My question to you is what is our permanent solution?
