The power of research to save lives (8579 hits)

“We need more research, we need more treatments, and we need a more robust safety net for people who struggle...” -Anita F., LUNG FORCE Hero

Research holds the key to a world free from lung disease.

We’re working on so many groundbreaking projects and investing in our research team to advance the most state-of-the-art treatments. With more than 35 million Americans with lung disease waiting, we need to do whatever it takes to find a cure.

During Giving Week, let’s make the biggest impact we can—together.

Make a gift today and help fund the vital research bringing us closer to early detection, new treatments and cures for lung disease.

We’ve been pioneering medical breakthroughs for lung health since 1915. Thanks to your support, our research team and grantees have achieved amazing success and revolutionized treatments for lung diseases. Premature babies are less likely to die from respiratory distress syndrome, tuberculosis rates are at an all-time low and people with chronic lung diseases are able to breathe easier.

Your donation today supports researchers like pulmonologist Katharine Black, M.D., who is making progress in hopes to reverse pulmonary fibrosis.

Your gift funds lifesaving medical research

Dr. Black is working to understand the process that leads to pulmonary fibrosis, an often fatal condition in which the lung tissue becomes scarred. Through her research, Dr. Black was better able to define how certain lung cells respond to damage. She hopes this research can identify new targets for drug therapies to halt or even reverse the progression of pulmonary fibrosis and bring hope to thousands of patients.

Without your support, we couldn’t fund the talented people on our American Lung Association Research Team. Please make your first gift today to support the cutting-edge research we do to try to find cures for lung disease.

Your gift funds lifesaving research

Research breakthroughs only happen because of supporters like you. With your gift today, we’ll make sure this crucial research continues uninterrupted, until everyone can breathe easy.

Donate today and your gift will go TWICE AS FAR. Your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 thanks to a generous matching gift from Dyson, who is generously supporting the American Lung Association in advocating for cleaner and healthier indoor and outdoor air this Giving Week.

Let’s do this together,

Your Giving Week Team at the American Lung Association

Please note, matching gifts cannot be applied to events.

PLEASE GIVE FOR RESEARCH:
