
The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and develop clinical simulation learning activities; to conduct clinical simulations for classes (with course faculty) and for small groups and individuals; to promote the use of simulation in nursing education; to serve as a consultant, coordinator and resource person on human patient simulation; and to evaluate and improve the integration and use of simulation in nursing education. This position is also responsible for monitoring and maintaining the simulation labs and equipment; providing assistance and instruction in simulation to faculty, students and community partners; developing and maintaining a simulation handbook; identifying emerging technologies and learning tools for possible adoption; making recommendations for enhancements, and seeking financial support for the simulation program as needed. This position will require working collaboratively with the nursing laboratory specialist. This is a 35 hour per week faculty position in the nursing department.
Qualifications & Requirements
Master's degree with a major in Nursing.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (or eligibility for licensure) in Illinois.
At least two (2) years of current acute care clinical nursing practice or recent clinical supervision in a hospital setting as a faculty member.
Experience in low and high fidelity simulation and instructional technology.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications related to simulator functions.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Desired Qualifications:
Teaching experience in fundamentals, MED/SURG, adult health or gerontology.
Familiarity with smart classroom technology.
