Dear Family of Advocates,
Time to ACT AGAIN---
January 30, 2012 -- The U.S. House is preparing to vote this week on a bill (HR 1173) that would repeal the Community Living Assistance Service and Support (CLASS) Act, a long-term care insurance program enacted under the Affordable Care Act. The CLASS Act would help people pay for long-term services and supports vital to helping them live independently in their homes and communities if they develop a disability with functional limitations, as is common with aging.
Please call your representative (identify yours here
www.house.gov) toll-free at 866-898-2624 and ask them to:
Oppose HR 1173's repeal of the CLASS Act!
Work with your colleagues to make CLASS work, not delete it!
Why support the CLASS Act?
CLASS is the only long-term care framework that exists in the Affordable Care Act
CLASS is paid for by voluntary premiums, not taxpayers!;
CLASS helps people who become severely disabled afford long-term services and supports so they can live independently in their homes and communities
Thank you in advance as always to keep Obamacare in tact for the poor, needy, vulnerables brothers and sisters.
Passing the peace,
