It is time that children feel comfortable talking to their parents about any and everything. Often times kids and young adults need someone they can vent to without feeling judged and without interruptions. They just need to know they can let it all out and still be loved unconditionally.
Parents also need to be able to confide in someone. If a parent molds their child properly they can confide in their child. Would we rather the outside world teach our kids the facts of life or do we want them to learn it in the home? Whatever parents refuse to discuss, the child will seek elsewhere. Our Queen Jada Pinkett-Smith is a great example of how to build a strong relationship with our kids. Just look how confident and secure Willow and Jaden are.
The way we communicate is passed down from generation to generation. My grandmother did not talk to my mother about s*x often so my mother was very reserved and general with s*x talks with me. Kids want details parents :)! My mother did give me the details on knowing that I was not average. She always talked to me about being a lady and about having a sense of high self esteem. Because of her, I know I'm the cream of the crop no matter what people say.
We thank Jada Pinkett-Smith's mother for being such a creative, strong and confident woman because we certainly see where Jada and Willow get it from. Be an open book with your parents and children or someone else will. Kids would you rather the teacher tell your parents how you messed up in school or would you rather they hear your side of the story first?
Trust in your parents and kids and communicate more.
