<p><font size="3" style="font-family: Arial"></font> </p><p> </p><p align="center" style="text-align: center"><b><font size="3">Lecturer of Physiology & Human Anatomy<br> School of Molecular & Cellular Biology<br> College of Liberal Arts & Sciences<br> University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign</font></b></p><p>The School of Molecular & Cellular Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants for a teaching position in the disciplines of Physiology and Human Anatomy at the rank of Lecturer. The position involves teaching a range of courses in the school with a focus on disciplines of Physiology and Human Anatomy. </p><p><b><u>Duties & Responsibilities</u></b></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-top: 0"><li>Teach 5 courses, or their equivalent, in any Fall, Spring, and Summer terms cycle. These may include large lecture courses, multi-section lab courses, and small discussion sections.</li><li>Supervise Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) and/or Undergraduate Learning Assistants (ULAs) for these courses, when GTAs or ULAs are involved.</li><li>Devise and deliver assigned courses utilizing evidence-based practices such as backward design and employing active learning strategies, maintain and improve current course materials, and develop or revised course content as needed.</li><li>Assist the MCB Instructional Program team in supporting students in the School of MCB by participation in academic advising, mentoring, recruitment, and other ways as needed.</li></ul><p><b><u>Required Qualifications</u></b></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-top: 0"><li>PhD in Physiology, Human Anatomy, or closely related discipline</li><li>3 years of teaching experience at the college or university level in Physiology and Anatomy </li></ul><p><b><u>Preferred Qualifications</u></b></p><ul type="disc" style="margin-top: 0"><li>More than 3 years of experience teaching at the college or university level in Human Physiology and Human Anatomy</li><li>Evidence of instruction that includes student-centered and inclusive practices</li><li>Discipline-based Education and/or Pedagogical Research experience</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</li><li>Commitment to creating an inclusive environment </li></ul><p> To find out more about the resources available at the university and Urbana-Champaign community please visit these sites:</p><p><a href="https://www.hr.uillinois.edu/benefits/">Benefits</a></p><p><a href="https://www.hr.uillinois.edu/benefits/">Living in Champaign-Urbana</a></p><p><a href="http://provost.illinois.edu/faculty-affairs/work-life-balance/">Work-Life Balance & Family Friendly Programs</a></p><p> </p><p><b><u>Appointment Information</u></b></p><p>The Lecturer position is a 100% full-time, non-tenure track position appointed on a 12-month service basis. </p><p>The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The salary range for this position is $70,889 - $79,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Reappointment is possible, based on funding, student need, and performance review.
