Location:

cCARE Cancer Center: Fresno

7130 North Millbrook Avenue

Fresno, CA 93720

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, between the hours of 7:45am - 5:00pm

This position will float throughout the departments in this facility.

What Medical Assistants contribute to Cardinal Health

Medical Assistant provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice. The Medical Assistant will perform both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical setting while maintaining professionalism, patient confidentiality, and teamwork.

Medical Assistants are responsible for medical services that directly or indirectly provide healthcare to patients.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience, preferred
  • High school diploma GED or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills


What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
  • Perform clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, and medication reconciliation (as applicable)
  • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and assist with referrals and authorizations
  • Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards are followed
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support efficient patient flow
  • Works on basic and routine assignments
  • Selects correct processes from prescribed rules or guidelines
  • Work is closely managed and follows detailed instructions
  • Seeks regular guidance and advice from supervisor

Anticipated hourly range:$17.80 per hour - $27.83 per hour
