NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, an affiliate of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is seeking a Full-Time Associate Director of Mental Health to provide leadership, support clinical excellence, and advance our mission of delivering high-quality behavioral health services in a skilled nursing setting.

Nestled on Roosevelt Island, our facility offers a warm and comfortable setting where patients receive exceptional care. From specialized rehabilitation equipment to expert wound care, Coler provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services designed to meet the diverse needs of our patients including comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care.

Responsibilities:

As the Associate Director of Mental Health at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, you will:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for psychiatric services within the skilled nursing facility.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Deliver direct clinical services, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
  • Supervise and mentor attending psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, and other clinical staff.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and evidence-based standards of psychiatric care.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and help shape innovative models of behavioral health care delivery in the long-term care setting.

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Psychiatry (Board Eligible within 5 years post-residency considered).
  • New York State medical license required.
  • Experience in geriatrics, long-term care psychiatry, or consultation-liaison psychiatry strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to academic medicine, and dedication to patient-centered behavioral health care.
