Job Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Geriatric & Palliative Medicine at the University of Michigan is seeking a Research Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will conduct research under the mentorship of Dr. Lona Mody as well as collaborate with colleagues within the Division and throughout the University as appropriate to develop mutual research and training interests. This position will work on developing innovative therapies and rehabilitation protocols aimed at enhancing the quality of life in older adults, particularly through improving mobility and cognitive function associated with vestibular problems. This position will also enable opportunities for the successful candidate to mentor UM graduate students in gerontology as well as those seeking advanced training in audiology and cognitive health. 

Required Qualifications*

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience

• Working knowledge and advanced productivity in using physiological and behavioral tools to treat and prevent noise-induced vestibular injury

• Demonstrated ability to apply for and receive grant funding
