Note: If you have already signed up to walk with DC for Obama on the N Street Village team, send an email to walkathon@dcforobama.com.
FRIDAY, November 17, 2011, is the deadline to sign up for the final Help the Homeless Walkathon. Like each of the past three years, DC for Obama will be walking to support the women of N Street Village (http://www.nstreetvillage.org/).
Over the years, nearly 300 of you have come out in support of this incredible organization, and this year your help is needed more than ever.
Sign up today to walk for the women of N Street Village, then email walkathon@dcforobama.com
If you are unable to join us on Saturday, but would still like to support N Street Village through the walkathon, please sign up as a virtual walker at
https://secure3.convio.net/hth/site/TRR/Wa... Every person who signs up to walk with N Street Village helps support the women we serve in finding their own inner hero, like Rene Petaway, who recently shared her story on WUSA-9’s Hero Central (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W72ZZfK19mg&feature=relmfu).
We hope that Rene’s story inspires you to be N Street Village’s hero this week by registering to walk and help us reach our goal. Watch this short video.
Saturday, November 19th Day of Logistics:
7 AM-8 AM: Join us for breakfast at the Old Post Office Pavilion (1100 Pennsylvania Ave. | Closest Metro Stop: Federal Triangle)
8 AM: Head to Walk Starting Line/Registration Area (Between 9th and 12th Streets on the National Mall | Closest Metro Stop: Smithsonian)
Look for someone carrying the N Street Village Banner. The best way to walk with N Street Village is to meet us at the Old Post Office before 8 AM!
8:30 AM: Pre-Walk Entertainment on the National Mall
9:00 AM: Walk Begins (Approximately 3.1 miles)
