Webinar on 2020 Census Planning

The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI) will be hosting a webinar with the U.S. Census Bureau on Monday, March 28 from 2-3:30pm EST about their field and operational plans for the decennial census. Please register for the webinar learn more here:
http://ow.ly/ZGmY8. Join Dr. Jennifer Kim, Chief of the Content, Language, and Data Products Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau for a briefing on the 2020 Census Operational Plan. Dr. Kim will provide an overview of the Plan, and some of the research leading up to its release. She will also provide information about some of Census Bureau’s contract opportunities, including the Integrated Communications Contract. Jacob James Fitisemanu, Jr., member of the President’s Advisory Commission on AAPIs and the Census Bureau National Advisory Committee, will provide opening remarks.
Dr. Kim spearheads the work on the 2020 Census questionnaire content across all data collection modes, language assistance to respondents of Limited English Proficiency, and data products and dissemination. In 2015, she led the 2015 National Content Test, a major survey reaching 1.2 million households to help determine the best content for the 2020 Census. Dr. Kim also serves as the lead language expert for the Census Bureau National Advisory Committee Language Working Group. As chair of a Census Bureau Improving Operational Efficiencies team, she led an interdivisional team that led to the creation of a translation office at the Census Bureau.
