Secretary King to Participate in Dual Enrollment Roundtable Discussion at College of Southern Maryland

U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. will participate in a Dual Enrollment roundtable discussion at the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, Maryland at 10 a.m. ET on Monday, May 16.
King will be joined by U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell, and will discuss expanding access to Dual Enrollment programs for high school students.
The roundtable discussion will be moderated by Dr. Bradley Gottfried, president of the College of Southern Maryland. The participants joining King include: David Robinson, professor at the College of Southern Maryland, who teaches both traditional college and dually enrolled students; Brian Hammond, admissions director at the College of Southern Maryland; Taylor Mutchler, a senior at Huntingtown High School and a currently dual enrolled student at the College of Southern Maryland; Hassan Yousaf, a current College of Southern Maryland student who participated in the dual enrollment program; Tierra Harris, a current College of Southern Maryland student who participated in the dual enrollment program, and will soon be transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill; Molly Gearhart, supervisor of Student Services at Calvert County Public Schools; Alicia Jones, supervising school counselor at Charles County Public Schools; and Jeffrey A. Maher, chief academic officer at St. Mary's County Public Schools.
